Missions and Benevolence

Our church has a long history of reaching out to those in need. We have a strong affinity for opening our hearts as well as our pocketbooks to bestow grace upon our fellow citizens of earth in the name of Jesus. We support a wide variety of global, national, regional and local charities with helping hands in addition to financial aid. We also provide ongoing disaster relief for communities hit hard by acts of nature.

Listed here are some of the groups or organizations that Ascension supports on an ongoing basis. We've provided links for those groups with their own websites for more information on each entity.

The Salvation Army has served survivors of every major national disaster since 1900. The Salvation Army does not place an administrative fee on disaster donations. During emergency disasters, 100 percent of designated gifts are used to support specific relief efforts. To donate, go to our Tithe.ly account and choose missions.

Pueblo de Dios Lutheran Church is a Christian haven in the heart of gangland—Compton, California. This highly-energetic community outreach provides Christian and parochial/trade education, as well as meals and health and recreation services, under Christian oversight to families working to lift themselves out of the cycle of crime and poverty.

Lutheran Social Services of Southern California has a legacy of meeting the needs of the poor, underserved and powerless regardless of race, creed or orientation since 1946. We unite with individuals, churches, businesses, civic leaders, government agencies and other stakeholders for one goal; breaking the cycle of poverty one family at a time.

OPERATION HEAL OUR PATRIOTS - You can help bring a military couple to Samaritan Lodge Alaska for a week of Biblically based marriage enrichment. Ongoing support will be provided for years to come. Your gift helps provide these husbands and wives the spiritual refreshment, physical renewal, and marriage enrichment they critically need.

For over 40 years, H4KI has been committed to serving children living in impoverished environments around the world by establishing economic, spiritual, water, orphan, and feeding programs. In addition to these programs, we have been leading teams of volunteers on two-week international mission trips bringing life-saving provisions and the spirit of Jesus.

Operation Homefront's mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. We provide programs that offer: RELIEF (through Critical Financial Assistance and transitional housing programs), RESILIENCY (through permanent housing and caregiver support services) and RECURRING FAMILY SUPPORT programs and services to help military families overcome the short-term bumps in the road so they don’t become long-term chronic problems.
