Each year, Ascension generously blesses the recipients of Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child. Our goal this year is 100 boxes, and each box represents one child who will experience God's love in a very real and tangible way.  You can support this event by choosing between five ways to participate:

  1. Pick up a shoebox from the ALC Social Hall starting November 1. Return the filled box to the Social Hall by Sunday, November 15.  Don't forget to fill out a label so we know who should receive the box.
  2. Donate to our Mission Basket offering on Sunday, November 8. Every dollar donated (yes, 100% of it) will be used to buy items we'll pack at our packing party (see #4 below)
  3. Don't want to stuff a whole box? See one item that is on sale if you buy it in bulk? Drop off NEW small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies in the collection box in the ALC Social Hall by Sunday, November 15. These will be assembled at a packing party (see #4 below).
  4. Attend our packing party on Tuesday, November 17, during TNT (5:30pm). Help us assemble the donated items into boxes.
  5. Volunteer at the Shoebox Processing Center with us on Monday, December 14.
