Mike was born and raised in a small farm town in Central Illinois, where he and his family were members of the Faith United Presbyterian Church. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Mike joined TRW (now Northrop Grumman) at Space Park in Redondo Beach during graduate school and was with the company for almost 40 years. Mike and his wife, Jacqueline, have been married since 1990 and have two sons. They joined Ascension Lutheran Church in 2000, where Mike has served on Church Council as Vice President and on several Call Committees. Mike enjoys serving as a scripture reader and volunteering on the Battleship USS Iowa.
